Our Love Yoga is the realization of a dream for co-founder, Joanna Rothschild. Deeply inspired by the world renowned Tao Porchon- Lynch, Joanna has become a gifted teacher in her own right. What began as a hobby and evolved into a lifestyle and ultimately became a new profession after a trip to India. When Tao invited Joanna to attend her school, The Westchester Institute of Yoga, she jumped at the chance to be certified by her mentor.

After 12 years of practicing, Joanna still found herself buying men’s tank tops to wear to yoga classes because they were the only ones long enough to provide adequate covering.. And, she always needed new yoga pants, since they shrank after washing.

As a yoga student, an instructor and as a woman, wearing unflattering and uncomfortable clothes was a very big problem. Joanna realized she wasn’t alone. and so began.... Our Love Yoga.

At 23, a determined Jonny Rothschild founded his first company, ProGo’s LLC (www.ProGosLLC.com). ProGo’s was the embodiment of his passion for screen printing and embroidery.

Today, ProGo’s is a reputable business with a growing list of clientele, including major corporations, large beverage companies and professional sports leagues. Though Jonny has worked with many fortune 500 companies, his most cherished clients are the ones in his very own community.

When his sister, Joanna, a noted yoga instructor, started to tell him about the need for modern, comfortable, longer-length, yoga clothing, he listened... The two siblings joined forces and combined their life’s passions to create Our Love Yoga.

“There is nothing we cannot do.”

With over 35 years experience, Tao is considered a Master Yoga Teacher. Having studied personally with B.K.S. Iyengar, she was among the first to bring the Iyengar style to the United States. Tao co-founded what eventually became the Yoga Teachers Association, serving as its President and now, Program Director. Since creating the Westchester Institute of Yoga in 1982, she has personally certified over 300 teachers, including Joanna Rothschild.


At age 90, Tao rests in a difficult pose effortlessly. At 90 years old, Tao still teaches 20 classes a week, conducts workshops across America and leads retreats around the world. Tao, with Joanna assisting, was featured with Rodney Yee in Sag Harbor and led a weekend conference at Kripalu in Lenox, MA.

Whether walking in India with Gandhi, participating in Yoga for Peace in Israel, teaching on Capital Hill, or being featured on The Today Show, Tao has embodied the lessons she has so devotedly taught. Her CD, The Rhythm of Stillness, is sold globally.

Tao truly is an inspiration to all, especially to Joanna. Tao is Joanna’s mentor and throughout the years she has guided Joanna with life, lessons, and the sacred spirit of yoga. Tao and Joanna have since then formed a strong bond and friendship.

"Out of over 300 students who I have certified...there's something special about Joanna", Tao has said. Like Joanna, she has always wanted more comfortable and practical yoga clothing. After wearing Our Love Yoga clothes, Tao has finally found pants that fit her legs which are just as long and shapely as they were when she modeled in Paris years ago. The respect with which Tao treats the yoga product, symbols and community inspired and is embodied in the Our Love Yoga line of clothing.
